AltoDocs calculation syntax
Expressions evaluate in array order. A variable binds to its nearest preceding definition.
Use := for definitions, \cdot for multiplication, \frac{a}{b} for fractions, and \operatorname{kN} for units.
Example: [{"key":"q","latex":"q := 12\\operatorname{kN}/\\operatorname{m}"},{"key":"L","latex":"L := 6\\operatorname{m}"},{"key":"M","latex":"M := q \\cdot L^2 / 8","unit":"kN m"}]
The example produces 54 kN m. Conversion changes presentation, not the physical quantity.
Limits: 200 expressions, 2000 characters per expression, unique keys, bounded runtime.
Report expression errors; never substitute a guessed answer. Values are computed from supplied formulas, not a structural-code compliance check.
evaluate_calculation evaluates supplied expressions without saving. Use create_document or edit_document, when available and authorized, to save native worksheets; then read_document for section links. LaTeX is expression input/display syntax; the shared calculation engine evaluates with mathjs.
