# Come Together (H&M · 2016)

## Insight
Christmas travel delays separate people from the ones they most want to be with on the one day of the year when being together matters most.

## Mechanic
A short film directed by Wes Anderson: a train conductor (Adrien Brody) transforms a stranded train's delayed Christmas into an improvised celebration for the passengers, using the resources at hand. The film ends with everyone together, making the best of where they are.

## Why it worked
Wes Anderson's visual signature elevated the film to a cultural object rather than brand content. The theme — making the best of imperfect circumstances — positions H&M as a brand that enables Christmas regardless of logistics. The distinctive aesthetic is so strong it overwrites the brand context.

## Steal
Commission a filmmaker with a strong personal style for a branded short film. When the director's vision is the dominant signal, the brand benefits from the director's cultural equity without needing to assert its own.
