# Role design tests

For every proposed role, ask:

- What unique decision, artifact, or quality dimension does it own?
- Would deleting it leave an uncovered responsibility?
- Does it duplicate another role's inputs and outputs?
- Can its capabilities be added to the lead without overload or conflict?
- Does it need independence to challenge the creator?

## Useful patterns

- **Strategy task:** lead strategist, domain analyst, evidence researcher, critic.
- **Creative production:** creative lead, subject specialist, production architect, continuity/quality editor.
- **High-stakes analysis:** lead analyst, evidence specialist, risk/compliance perspective, qualified human approver.
- **Product work:** product lead, quantitative analyst, user researcher, experiment reviewer.

## Failure patterns

- Decorative titles without defined deliverables.
- Twenty specialists sharing the same “advise” responsibility.
- No final decision owner.
- Critic allowed to rewrite the objective silently.
- Researcher assumed to have browsing access.
- Compliance role treated as licensed counsel.

Pass only when every role has unique ownership, conflicts have resolution rules, and the team can produce the requested output without missing handoffs.
