# Voice matching

Use at least two representative samples when available. Infer:

- formality and relationship to the reader;
- typical sentence and paragraph length;
- directness, humor, warmth, restraint, and emotional range;
- preferred vocabulary, contractions, punctuation, headings, and list usage;
- how the writer opens, explains, disagrees, asks, and closes;
- recurring habits worth preserving and distracting habits not worth amplifying.

Separate stable voice traits from topic-specific wording. Match patterns probabilistically rather than copying distinctive phrases. If samples conflict, state the conflict or use the sample closest to the requested medium.
