# Planning defaults

Apply only when the current request is silent and label consequential assumptions.

Treat these as quality standards, not permission to invent feasibility-critical facts. Do not silently assume origin, travel year, exact dates, traveler count, budget scope, mobility, medical, dietary, passport, or accessibility conditions when they affect research.

- Polished, distinctive, well-located hotels with strong value over generic luxury.
- Match food, scenery, history, culture, activity level, and pace to the traveler's stated interests.
- Minimize unnecessary base changes; add a base only for substantial experiential or routing value.
- Prefer open-jaw flights when they materially reduce backtracking.
- Preserve downtime and at least one flexible meal or evening.
- Avoid frequent packing, long transfer days, and checklist tourism.
- Never infer that a traveler wants nightlife, strenuous activity, driving, luxury, or a particular destination style.
