# JFK Unsilenced (The Times · 2019)

## Insight
JFK's 1963 Dallas speech was never delivered — he was assassinated before reaching the venue. For decades, journalism has documented what was lost. The Times had an opportunity to demonstrate what responsible media does that no one else can: complete the record.

## Mechanic
Using AI voice synthesis trained on JFK's existing speech patterns and recordings, Rothco reconstructed the undelivered Dallas Trade Mart speech and played it at the exact venue, 55 years later. The restored speech was broadcast and published by The Times. Tech was the journalism — not a gimmick, but the act of reporting itself.

## Why it worked
The technology (P18) did not exist to create novelty; it was deployed to complete a factual record that mattered. Truth-telling (P13) was the editorial mission — the AI was simply the most rigorous available instrument. For a news brand under pressure about media integrity, this demonstrated that quality journalism uses whatever tools best serve accuracy.

## Steal
When your product claim is "truth" or "quality," use the most demanding available technology to demonstrate that claim through an act — not an assertion. Let the difficulty of the task validate the brand's commitment.
