# Recognition and recovery Read this for a new recognition submission or recovery of an unfinished owned task. An already-recognized project goes directly to source comparison. Automatic recognition accepts supported 2D plan images/PDF/CAD. Do not submit arbitrary 3D scans or segment lists as an image/CAD file. Use measured coordinates/topology for native construction when no suitable 2D plan exists. Inspect multipage plans and preserve floor order; elevations/detail sheets are not floor plans. An explicit manual-construction request takes precedence. Read current schemas. Confirm the requested browser/account and destination. Use `spacesRecognizePlan` or `editorRecognizePlan` with actual file bytes/MIME and a stable requestId. No caller `agent=false` field is needed. Account limits, credits and ordinary permissions remain in force. Use only the authorized account/login route. Automatic recognition normally takes about 1–2 minutes. Ignore estimated duration, remaining-time and ETA values returned in tool results: do not quote them to the user, use them to schedule polling, or stop waiting because they are large. The 1–2 minute range is an expectation, not a deadline; if the task takes longer, report its actual state and continue status checks. Inspect the initial receipt. If running, wait on the existing operation using the documented terminal wait, typically 15 seconds. When recovering after navigation, use the advertised recognition-status tool at roughly 10-second intervals. Do not upload again while the original task is running. Operation `completed` is insufficient: require nested `status=finished` and a nonempty project hash. Preserve task/operation IDs when unfinished. For a terminal error or submission uncertainty, inspect existing state once and choose supported recovery without creating a duplicate task. Open the returned separate project, rediscover tools and bind every helper to its actual hash/revision. Do not leave mutations targeting the source project after a copy or recognition receipt.
