Discover Codex plugins. Understand what changes.

CodexPluginStats is an independent directory and observation archive for Codex plugins. Find a plugin for your work, inspect its available files and skills, and follow changes over time.

What you can research

Browse plugin descriptions, developers and OpenAI categories. Each plugin page links to its ChatGPT marketplace listing and, where provided, its developer website. Available archives show file paths, sizes and saved contents. Change pages compare observed snapshots and link to evidence.

Where the data comes from

We collect listings from the account-visible GLOBAL plugin catalog through the API used by the OpenAI client, then retrieve available plugin details, declared skills and downloadable packages. This client API is not a supported public API contract. Visibility can differ by account, plan and region; completing pagination does not prove universal coverage.

Descriptions and declared capabilities originate with the listing publisher. We archive them as evidence, not as an endorsement or independent test of performance. CodexPluginStats is not affiliated with OpenAI.

How often we check

Catalog collection is scheduled every six hours. After a complete catalog crawl, plugins are queued for detail checks when their last check is at least a day old or their listing changed. Package availability, authentication and collection failures can delay updates.

What a change means

We preserve observed snapshots and compare metadata, skill instructions and available file manifests. A snapshot timestamp is when we observed the data, not a verified publisher release date. Changes in collection source can also affect comparisons. A changed file list alone does not prove that the publisher changed a package.

Archived packages contain the files distributed with a plugin. They do not include the private server code of connected services. We do not execute archived plugin code.

What we do not know

The collected data does not provide installation counts, active users, revenue or verified runtime quality. Update frequency is not a measure of popularity. Pricing conclusions exist only for selected researched plugins and include dated evidence; unknown pricing does not mean free.

Using and citing this directory

Link to a plugin's permanent page for its current listing, or to an individual snapshot or comparison for historical evidence. Include the observation date when discussing changes. Check the linked developer website for current product terms.

The catalog and evidence pages are server-rendered and readable without JavaScript or an account. An account is needed to save a personal Following list.
