Description
From the marketplace listing
Bhasini Indic Scripts writes text in the native scripts of the 22 scheduled languages of India: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. It uses a rule-based transliteration engine, so the same input always gives the same spelling. It covers less widely supported scripts too, such as Ol Chiki (Santali), Meetei Mayek (Manipuri) and Perso-Arabic Kashmiri and Sindhi. What you can ask: - Write words in a native script: "Write vaNakkam and nanRi in Tamil script" gives வணக்கம், நன்றி. - Convert text between Indian scripts: Hindi नमस्ते भारत becomes Kannada ನಮಸ್ತೇ ಭಾರತ, so a reader of one script can read text written in another. - Learn to type: find the keys for any letter on a phonetic keyboard, such as zh for ழ in Tamil. - Write numbers in native numerals: 2026 becomes २०२६ in Hindi or ২০২৬ in Bengali. - Look up the supported languages, scripts and language codes. Bhasini transliterates: it writes the sounds of words in another script. It does not translate meaning. No account or sign-in is needed. Bhasini receives only the text passed to its tools, never your conversation. That text is converted in memory and is not stored or logged. See the privacy policy for details. Made by Codegres. Competitor profile
From the developer’s listing and package; capabilities are not independently tested. Package observed Nov 3, 2026.
Declared capabilities
- Transliterate romanised words into 22 Indian language scripts
- Convert text between Indian scripts, e.g. Devanagari to Kannada
- Show the phonetic keyboard keys for any letter
Declared limitations
- Translation request. Bhasini writes sounds in another script and does not translate meaning, so it must not be used to turn English words into Tamil letters. Expected: ChatGPT translates itself (it may then use transliterate only on a romanised Tamil translation).
- Unrelated coding request. No Bhasini tool should be called.
- Unrelated question that mentions an Indian city. Bhasini has no weather or web data, so no tool should be called.
Review scenarios; not an exhaustive list.

# Writing Indian-language text with Bhasini
Use the Bhasini tools instead of writing Indic letters from memory whenever exact spelling matters:
names, greetings, addresses, signage, certificates, or scripts you are less sure of (Ol Chiki,
Meetei Mayek, Perso-Arabic Kashmiri or Sindhi).
- **Romanised words to a script** ("write vaNakkam in Tamil"): `transliterate`. It writes sounds, not
meanings. Pass the word as it sounds in the target language, never an English word to be translated.
- **One Indian script to another** (Hindi text for a Kannada reader): `convert_script`. Only the letters
change; the language stays the same.
- **Which keys type a letter**, or unsure how to romanise: `get_keymap`. Capitals mark long vowels and
retroflex consonants (`A I U E O`, `T D N L Sh`); `M` is anusvara.
- **Native numerals**: `native_digits`.
- **Language codes and scripts**: `list_languages`.
For a translation request, translate yourself first. Bhasini does not translate.
