Description

From the marketplace listing

cytado helps you ground academic writing in real, published sources. Ask it to support a claim and it looks for an existing publication — authors, title, journal, year — and returns the printed page number with a short quote from that page, so you can check the footnote against the source yourself. It searches scholarly registries (OpenAlex, Crossref, DOAJ, DOAB and more) plus a full-text corpus with real pagination, gathers sources for a chapter, and checks whether references in an existing bibliography are real. When it finds no supporting source, it says so instead of suggesting one. Works in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Polish. Tip: start your message with @cytado so ChatGPT waits for real sources. Limitations: cytado finds sources and shows how directly each quote supports a claim; you should still read the source before citing it. It does not write or submit your work. Topics not yet in the corpus need a background search that takes 5–30 minutes.

Release notes

1.2.0: new read-only tool verify_references (checks existing bibliography entries against Crossref, OpenAlex, Google Books, DOAJ and the web; reports verified / probable / unverified, never "fake"). Much faster source lookups. Source languages default to the language of the user's text; Spanish, Portuguese and French are supported. Tool descriptions ask the assistant to keep cytado's verified sources separate from web results. Listing: starters with concrete examples, translations (es, pt-BR, fr, de).

Declared in the saved package. Remote tools may change independently.
