Description
From the marketplace listing
Data2Bids indexes the documents of construction bids (specifications, drawings, addenda, forms and contracts) that your company uploads or syncs from Google Drive, Dropbox or Microsoft 365. This plugin lets you ask questions about those projects in ChatGPT. What you can do: - List the bid projects your company has in Data2Bids and check their processing status. - Ask about requirements, quantities, deadlines, insurance, bonds, allowances or scope, and get an answer grounded in the bid documents. - Open a specific file or page to read or quote it. Every answer cites the file name and PDF page it comes from and, when the document came from Google Drive, Dropbox or Microsoft 365, a link to the original file. Who it is for: estimators, project managers and bid teams at general contractors and subcontractors who already use Data2Bids. Limitations: the plugin is read-only. It cannot upload, edit, delete or submit anything, and it never sees documents outside your company's Data2Bids account. It only knows what is in the documents already processed in Data2Bids; if a requirement is not in them, it says so. You need a Data2Bids account to connect. Data2Bids uses artificial intelligence. AI can make mistakes. Always verify answers against the original documents before using them for a bid, price, or any business decision.

--- name: answer-from-bid-documents description: Answer questions about the user's construction bid projects in Data2Bids from the bid documents, citing file name, PDF page and the link to the original document. --- # Answer from bid documents Use this when the user asks about one of their bid projects: requirements, scope, quantities, deadlines, insurance, bonds, allowances, forms or any other content of the bid documents. ## Steps 1. Call `data2bids_investigate` first with the user's question about the project, including the project name if they mention one. It resolves the project from hints or misspellings and returns the relevant passages. 2. If it returns several candidate projects, ask only which project the user means, then continue. 3. Answer in the same turn from that result. Prefer that single call. - Call `projects_get_status` or `files_list` only when the user asks for a project's status or a list of files. - Call `files_get_content`, `files_get_content_page` or `retrieval_get_matches_for_file` only when the user asks to open, quote or verify a specific document, or when the returned passages are not enough to answer. - A tool's `next_actions` are optional hints, not steps you must follow. ## Citations - Cite every factual claim with the literal file name (the `file_name` field, never `file_id`) and the PDF page (`page` field), for example: (Plano 703 - Estructural.pdf, p. 7). - When the passage or file has a `source_url`, add it next to the citation: (Plano 703 - Estructural.pdf, p. 7) [link](source_url). The link opens the document, not the page, so always keep the page. - Never invent or change a URL, a file name or a page. ## AI notice End every answer with this notice in the language of the conversation (English: "Data2Bids uses artificial intelligence. AI can make mistakes. Always verify answers against the original documents before using them for a bid, price, or any business decision."; Spanish: "Data2Bids usa inteligencia artificial. Use the matching translation verbatim; for any other language translate the English notice. This skill is the only place that asks for the notice. Tool descriptions and tool results do not repeat it, so add it yourself at the end of each answer. ## What not to do - If the documents do not contain the answer, say so plainly and do not guess. - Do not mention internal details such as data-quality notes, graph diagnostics, chunks, batches, coverage or processing internals. - The plugin is read-only. If the user asks to upload, edit, delete or submit something, explain that it cannot and that those actions are done on www.data2bids.com. Use the vocabulary of construction bids and answer in the user's language.
get-started1.23 KB
--- name: get-started description: Check the Data2Bids connection after installing the plugin, show the user's bid projects and suggest a first question about them. --- # Get started with Data2Bids Use this right after the user installs or connects the Data2Bids plugin. 1. Call `projects_list` to confirm the connection and see which bid projects the user's company has in Data2Bids. - If the call asks for sign-in, tell the user to connect their Data2Bids account and try again. Do not ask for passwords or tokens in the chat. - If the list is empty, explain that projects are created and documents uploaded or synced on www.data2bids.com, and that the plugin can only read projects that already exist there. 2. Show the projects as a short list (name and, if present, owner or location). Do not show internal IDs unless the user asks for them. 3. Suggest one or two example questions that fit their projects, for example: - "What insurance limits does the <project> bid require?" - "When are bids due for <project>, and where are they delivered?" 4. Remind the user once that the plugin is read-only: it answers from the documents already processed in Data2Bids and cannot upload, edit or delete anything. Answer in the user's language.
Release notes
1.0.4: the AI notice ("Data2Bids uses artificial intelligence. AI can make mistakes...") now comes from the server instructions in the user's language instead of the tool descriptions; users must accept the Data2Bids Terms before the tools answer; listing copy and skills aligned with the live server. Still read-only: 11 tools to list bid projects, check their status, search and read bid documents, and answer with file name, page and a link to the original document. Sign-in with your Data2Bids account (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE).
