Description
From the marketplace listing
HarborRank brings live Google search data and your own Search Console and Google Analytics into the conversation, so you can do SEO by asking. What you can do: - Keyword research: search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, intent and monthly trends, plus ideas from seed topics or a domain. - Live Google results: organic SERPs and local Maps packs for any location, and the domains that compete with you. - Competitor research: a site's ranking keywords, estimated organic traffic, top pages and backlink overview. - Site audits: crawl a site for broken pages, redirects, missing or duplicate titles, noindex, canonicals and thin content. - Search Console (read-only): clicks, impressions, CTR and position by query, page, country and date, plus URL inspection to see why a page is not indexed. - Google Analytics (read-only): conversions and revenue per landing page joined with Search Console, and visits referred by AI assistants. - Projects: saved keyword lists and rank-tracker positions you set up in HarborRank. - Local lead research for agencies: find local businesses on Google Maps and build a one-page SEO teardown for each. Nine guided workflows come with the plugin: an SEO coach for beginners, project setup, keyword research, keyword clustering, competitive landscape, competitor analysis, SEO audit and traffic-drop diagnosis, link prospecting, and local lead teardowns. Who it's for: small business owners, marketers, content writers and SEO freelancers or agencies who want real search data without learning an enterprise SEO suite. Limitations: you need a HarborRank account (sign in when you connect). Search Console and Google Analytics data appear only after you connect those properties in HarborRank, and access is read-only. Some features, such as full backlink profiles and lead teardowns, are not available on every HarborRank plan. Search data comes from DataForSEO and reflects Google at the time of the request.

--- name: competitive-landscape description: "Map who wins an SEO market across many competitors: recurring ranking domains, their organic footprint, winning content formats, backlinks, local pack leaders, and open gaps. Use when the user asks who ranks for a topic or market, who their SEO competitors are, or where the openings are. For a deep dive on one named competitor, use competitor-analysis instead." --- # HarborRank Competitive Landscape ## Goal Answer: "Who is winning this SEO market, what content is working for them, and where are the openings?" Use this when the user wants a market-level view across several competitors. For a deep dive on one domain, use `competitor-analysis`. ## Step 0: Check connection Before any other step, confirm the HarborRank MCP tools are loaded. Look for `get_domain_overview` or `list_leads` among your tools (the name may carry a prefix such as `harborrank`). If they are there, call `whoami`: it uses no credits, confirms the user is signed in, and returns `creditsRemaining` for budgeting the run. Do not call a research tool to test the connection. If neither tool is available, or `whoami` fails because the user is not signed in, tell the user plainly: "HarborRank isn't connected, so I can't pull live HarborRank data yet." Then tell them how to connect it: - ChatGPT or Codex: open the HarborRank plugin, choose Connect, and sign in to HarborRank. - Other clients: add `https://app.harborrank.com/mcp` as a remote MCP server. Setup for each client is at https://harborrank.com/docs/mcp. Do not stop there. Continue in fallback mode (below). If the user connects HarborRank mid-task, run Step 0 again and switch to the full workflow. ### Plan limits On hosted HarborRank, research tools spend credits. The Free plan has 1,000 credits a month and one project. Search Console, saved keywords, rank tracker reads, and site crawls use no credits. A keyword search costs about 50 credits and a domain overview about 80. Full backlinks, lead research (`research_lead`), and Lighthouse checks need a paid plan; on Free, the backlinks tools return a preview (totals and the top 3 referring domains, about 50 credits). - If `creditsRemaining` will not cover the planned calls, give the user the estimate and ask before spending. Use the free tools first. - If a tool replies that a feature "is included in paid plans", tell the user once which feature needs a paid plan, skip that tool for the rest of the run, and finish with the other evidence. Do not retry it. - If a tool fails for insufficient credits, stop making paid calls, tell the user, and finish with free tools and the data you already have. If `whoami` warns that credits are low, say so before a large run. - If the user asks about plans or credits, point them to https://harborrank.com/pricing. Do not quote prices or promote plans. - When `whoami` returns `mode: "self-hosted"`, there are no plan gates. ### Fallback mode (no HarborRank connection) Use this mode only when Step 0 finds no connection. It works from web search, page reading, and files the user provides. **Can still do** - Run the market query set through web search and note which domains keep appearing. - Group those domains by type: direct competitors, publishers, directories, communities, resources. - Read the leaders' sites to identify the content formats, themes, and positioning that are working. - Call the result directional. **Must not estimate** Traffic, search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, keyword counts, rankings, backlink counts, Maps pack positions, and Q&A counts. For a whole market, use competitive-landscape instead." --- # HarborRank Competitor Analysis ## Goal Analyze one competitor deeply enough to decide what to learn from, avoid, counter-position against, or outrank. Use this for a named competitor. For identifying the market leaders first, use `competitive-landscape`. ## Step 0: Check connection Before any other step, confirm the HarborRank MCP tools are loaded. This is a keyword mapping workflow, not just a semantic grouping exercise. ## Step 0: Check connection Before any other step, confirm the HarborRank MCP tools are loaded. The teardown is the sales document; the agency sends it, the business owner reads their own numbers. ## Step 0: Check connection Before any other step, confirm the HarborRank MCP tools are loaded. Use when the user asks to audit their site, run an SEO check or health check, find technical SEO problems, asks why traffic, clicks, or rankings dropped, or why a page is not indexed." --- # HarborRank SEO Audit ## Goal Find what is holding a site back in search and fix the most important things first. Two modes, often used together: - **Health audit:** crawl the site, read the issue report, check indexing for the pages that matter, and produce a prioritized fix list. - **Traffic-drop diagnosis:** use Search Console to find when clicks fell, which pages and queries lost them, and why. If the user asks about a drop, start with the diagnosis and run the crawl only where it helps explain the losing pages. ## Step 0: Check connection Before any other step, confirm the HarborRank MCP tools are loaded. **Can still do** - Explain the workflows, SEO concepts, and what each skill would do. - Help the user set goals and choose one next step. - Read the user's site and competitor pages to ground advice in real examples. - Use web search for current market context. - When the user wants execution rather than explanation, make connecting HarborRank the first next step. **Must not estimate** Traffic, search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, keyword counts, rankings, backlink counts, Maps pack positions, and Q&A counts. Write `unknown` for each. A web search shows which pages appeared for a query when you searched, not their Google ranking: report it as "appeared in web search", never as a position. **Output** - Start with the label **Web-evidence only: no HarborRank data.** - Name the source (URL or file) of every figure you report. - End, after any recommended next workflow, with one sentence that names the numbers this report is missing: "Connect Harbo

--- name: seo-project-setup description: "Set up an SEO project: a local SEO workspace folder, website scope, goals, positioning, the HarborRank project, and Google Search Console (connected, or CSV exports). Use when the user starts SEO for a new site or client, onboards a website, wants to connect Search Console, or has no HarborRank project yet. The other HarborRank workflows build on this setup." --- # HarborRank SEO Project Setup ## Goal Help the user set up a local SEO workspace for one website or SEO project. The folder is where the agent saves notes, goals, exports, briefs, reports, preferences, and project context over time. This is a workspace and context setup workflow, not a full audit.
