Description
From the marketplace listing
localscreenshot takes a screenshot of a public web page and brings the image back into the conversation, so you and the assistant can look at the page as a visitor sees it. What you can ask for: - a screenshot of a page at desktop size, or as it looks on a phone or a tablet - the full scrollable page instead of the visible part - a single element of the page - the page as it is served to a visitor in a country you choose - a PNG, JPEG or WebP image, or the whole page saved as a PDF - dark mode, and most cookie banners and ads hidden in the picture With each screenshot you get the page title, the final address after redirects and the HTTP status the page answered with. When you ask for a country, the answer reports the country the page was actually loaded from, which is observed at the time of the screenshot and not assumed from your request. If the page cannot be loaded from that country, the screenshot fails and says so. You can also ask how many credits your account has left. Who it is for: people who review websites, write reports, check a landing page, compare how a page looks on a phone or in another country, or want the assistant to see a page before talking about it. Limits: it only opens public http and https pages. It does not log in to websites, does not type into forms, does not click on the page, does not solve bot checks or CAPTCHAs and does not get past paywalls. A page that answers with a bot check is reported as a failure. A website can tell that a visit is automated and may serve a different page. Private and internal network addresses are refused. The country reported is a technical observation, not a legal proof. You need a localscreenshot account. The plugin connects to it with your consent and uses the credits of that account. It cannot see your API keys, invoices or settings. Every screenshot is saved to the screenshot list of your account, where you can delete it. You can disconnect the plugin at any time from your localscreenshot dashboard.

Competitor profile
From the developer’s listing and package; capabilities are not independently tested. Package observed Nov 3, 2026.
Declared capabilities
- Take screenshots of public web pages
- Load a page from a chosen country
- Read the credits left on your account
Declared limitations
- The plugin does not log in to websites and never handles credentials. The assistant should not call take_screenshot with a password, should not ask for one, and should explain that only public pages can be captured.
- Private and internal network addresses are refused. The assistant should explain that only public http and https pages can be captured. If take_screenshot is called anyway, it answers with the error url_not_allowed and no screenshot is taken.
- The plugin only looks at a page: it does not click, type or send a form. The assistant should say that it cannot fill in or submit the form, and may offer a screenshot of the page as it is. It should not claim that anything was submitted.
Review scenarios; not an exhaustive list.
Cost & access
This plugin does not sell products or process payments, and exposes no commerce action. A screenshot uses the credits already on the user's existing localscreenshot account. When the account has no credits left, the tool only answers that there are not enough credits for the screenshot.
Terms may have changed since this observation.
Starter prompt
Take a screenshot of https://www.wikipedia.org and tell me what is on the page.

--- name: get-started description: How to take a screenshot of a public web page with localscreenshot, which option answers which request, and what a result does and does not show. --- # Taking screenshots with localscreenshot localscreenshot opens a public web page in a real browser and returns a picture of it, with the page title, the final address after redirects and the HTTP status the page answered with. Use it when the user wants to see a page, or wants you to look at one before talking about it. ## Pick the option that matches the request People rarely name an option. Translate what they ask for: | What they say | What to set on `take_screenshot` | | --- | --- | | "a screenshot of this page" | `url` only | | "on a phone", "on an iPhone", "on a tablet" | `device` | | "the whole page", "all the way down" | `full_page: true` | | "just the header", "only the comparison table" | `selector` | | "in dark mode" | `color_scheme: dark` | | "without the cookie banner", "without ads" | `block_cookie_banners`, `block_ads` | | "as seen from Germany", "what do visitors in Japan get" | `country` with the two-letter code | | "as a PDF" | `format: pdf` | Combine them freely: "the full page on a phone from France" is one call with `device`, `full_page` and `country` set together. Call `list_countries` when you need the code of a country, or to check that a country is available before promising a result. Call `get_credits` when the user asks what is left on their account. Do not call it before every screenshot: each screenshot answer already says what is left. ## Read the result honestly - The picture shows the page as it answered this one visit. A page can change between two visits, and a website can serve a different page to an automated visitor. - `country_observed` is the country the page was actually loaded from, observed at the time of the screenshot. Quote it, not the country that was asked for. It is a technical observation, not a legal proof. - `page_status` is what the website answered. A screenshot of an error page is still a screenshot: say that the page answered 404 or 500 rather than describing it as the page the user wanted. - A PDF comes back as a short-lived download link, not as an image. ## When a screenshot fails Say what happened in plain words and do not retry in a loop. - The page showed a bot check: the service does not solve them. Say so. - The page could not be loaded from the requested country: nothing was taken. Offer to try again or to take it without a country. - The address is not allowed: only public http and https pages can be opened. - There are not enough credits on the account: say so, and nothing more. Credits are managed by the user on their localscreenshot account, outside the conversation. ## What this cannot do It cannot log in to a website, type into a form, click on the page, solve a CAPTCHA, get past a paywall, or open an address on a private network. When someone asks for one of those, say so plainly instead of trying. Never ask the user for a password.
