Which luxury hotel fits you
Developer declarations; not independently tested. Listing last checked Nov 4, 2026. Package observed Nov 3, 2026.
Lumina sells nothing, takes no bookings and processes no payments. It shows prices collected from public sources as references and links to the hotel's own site.
Honeymoon in the Maldives in January, 4 nights, about $1,500 a night: which resort should we pick?
From the marketplace listing
Every luxury hotel has the same photo of the same pool. What you want to know is what your days there will be like. How you arrive, and how long it takes. What you see when you open the curtains. Whether you can walk into the sea from your villa and find fish. Where breakfast is, and whether dinner is worth staying in for. What the children will do. What happens when it rains. All of that exists, scattered: in the hotel's own pages, in thousands of guest reviews, in travellers' videos, in price lists, in weather records. We collected it, hotel by hotel, and we keep it up to date ourselves. Whatever Lumina tells you comes with where it was read and when. Tell it your trip and it shows the hotels that fit, on a map. Ask about any of them and it answers with what staying there is like: the photos, the prices through the year, what guests say. It doesn't take bookings, and when it doesn't know something, it says so. We know the Maldives best; more places are coming.

# Check a hotel with Lumina
The traveller's explicit instructions in the conversation take priority over this skill. When the traveller is
choosing between hotels, or asks whether one is right for their trip, use `lumina:choose-a-hotel` instead.
A hotel's name works as its id in every Lumina tool.
- **A fact** ("can you swim to the reef from the beach?", "is there a kids' club?", "how long is the transfer?"): call
`check_hotel_fact` with the hotel and the question. Quote the source sentence and the date it was read. If Lumina says
the answer is not established, say so; anything you add from a web search is labelled as the web's.
- **A price** for given dates and party: call `get_stay_price_references`. These are rates collected on the date shown,
never live availability; confirm and book on the hotel's site or with a travel agent.
- **Its prices** ("is February expensive there?", "who sells it cheapest?", "has it gone up?"): call `show_prices`. Lumina
holds dated observations by month, by night and by seller; the view lays them out and returns a brief to answer from.
- **What guests say** ("all the reviews", "the bad ones about the food", "what do honeymooners think?"): call
`show_reviews` with the topic, sentiment, party, dates or language asked. Quote a guest only from a review Lumina
returned, with its date.
- **Its photos** ("show me all the photos", "the bathrooms", "a video of the jetty"): call `show_photos`, with the kind of
place when one is asked. For one specific thing to prove ("show me the reef from the beach"), call `show_hotel_proof`,
then describe what each photo or video scene shows and credit it.
- **One part of it** (its villas, the arrival, the sea and reef, the food, children, a day there), or that part of two or
three hotels side by side: call `show_hotel` with the `topic` (`villa`, `arrival`, `sea`, `food`, `family`, `days`). The
view shows the saved facts with their source and date, that part's photos, and what is not established; for one of
those gaps, `check_hotel_fact` reads the resort's own site now.
- **Everything about it** before deciding: call `get_hotel_dossier`.
- **The destination itself** (when to go, the wet months, the sea and marine life by season, entry, taxes, flights): call
`show_destination`, with the month when the traveller has one.
- **Something Lumina does not hold** (flights, a booking, an Instagram profile, a recipe): answer as you normally would,
with no Lumina view.
One Lumina view per reply: if the question needs another, the traveller opens it from the view or asks next.
Answer in a few sentences. Never infer a value Lumina did not return: when a tool says it is unknown or unconfirmed,
keep it that way.

--- name: choose-a-hotel description: Choose where to stay - the luxury hotel or resort that fits a trip (honeymoon, family, friends, divers, a budget), the better of named hotels, or whether one is worth it for these travellers. Not for flights or bookings. --- # Choose a hotel with Lumina The traveller's explicit instructions in the conversation take priority over this skill. For one question about one named hotel, with no choice to make (a fact, a price for dates, a photo), use `lumina:check-a-hotel` instead. ## The trip 1. Collect what the traveller has already said: destination, month or dates, nights, who travels (adults, children's ages), budget per night, how they want to arrive, what each person wants and what each person worries about, hotels they named, hotels they ruled out, diet. Do not ask for anything the tools can work without; if the destination is unknown, help interpret what attracts them first. A photo is a starting point: distinguish visible features from inferred wishes, and ask only a question that materially changes the search. Do not identify an unknown place or infer privacy from a photograph. 2. Call `plan_destination_stay` with all of it. Write each wish or worry as a need, one person at a time (someone who gets bored needs things to do; someone afraid of water needs a calm lagoon). The tool accepts a nightly budget in USD. For another currency, use a current sourced exchange rate and state the approximation; if none is available, omit the numeric budget and compare documented prices in their own currencies. Never silently treat EUR, CHF or GBP as USD. Named hotels go in `named_hotels`, so they are judged against each other and against every other hotel there for the same trip. 3. `plan_destination_stay` already shows its shortlist in the chat (the hotels the traveller named first, then the best four), on a map by default. Pass `layout` from what the traveller asked: `map` when they want to see where the hotels are, the islands, distances or transfers; `table` when they ask to compare side by side; `cards` for a quick look at photos. Call `show_comparison` only to show other hotels or another layout. Prices, reviews and photos of one hotel, or of two to four side by side, open with `show_prices`, `show_reviews` and `show_photos`; one part of one to three hotels (villas, arrival, sea, food, children, days) with `show_hotel`; when to go with `show_destination`. One view per reply. 4. After the view opens, answer in a few sentences in the traveller's language: your pick and why, its cost with the condition that decides it (a transfer free only with a meal plan, a fare whose direction is not stated), the trade-off, what is not established, and a supported alternative they did not name. The view carries the rest; do not redraw it as a table. Never present one end of a cost range as the price. If Lumina says it does not cover the destination, say so and answer as you normally would. ## Never infer Room and villa names and numbers, prices, distances, transfer times, age limits and meal-plan inclusions come only from what a Lumina tool returned in this conversation. Lumina's plan already carries the room quotes collected for the traveller's dates, the transfer fares and their conditions, the meal plans and the guest evidence it holds: read them there before reaching for anything else, and say the date each price was collected. When a tool says a value is unknown or unconfirmed, keep it that way. Prices are collected references, not live availability; booking is on the hotel's site or with a travel agent. Say "Lumina" only about what Lumina returned; anything from a web search is the web's. ## Changes to the trip When the traveller changes dates, party, budget or priorities, run the plan again with the updated complete trip and refresh `show_comparison`. Preserve explicit exclusions. A cheaper hotel that meets the requirements is worth showing; do not spend the whole budget by default. Keep the exact room, quoted dates, guest party and tax coverage attached to every price. Never present a rate for other dates as the price of this trip. ## Conversation and saved journeys The scene is a visual companion to the conversation. Use the explicit hotel, villa, scene and revision in model context when resolving “this”. If absent or ambiguous, ask briefly; never assume a favorite is the currently viewed villa. A map movement or favorite does not require another recommendation. Answer a new question with the relevant fact/proof tool; replan only when the trip changes. When the traveller wants to look deeper at one hotel, `show_prices`, `show_reviews` and `show_photos` open what Lumina holds on it in the view: prices by month, night and seller; the guests' words by topic and party; every photo by space and video scenes at their second. Give a recommendation and comparison from the first useful result. Assess named hotels and explain the least-cost documented option meeting the requirements, plus what an upgrade buys. Missing prices are not evidence of value. Write in full, human sentences, tied to sourced scenes; never invent sensory details. Favorites, a saved journey and a booking are separate states. Lumina saves a journey only where its trip tools (`get_trip_capabilities`, `save_trip`) are listed in this conversation: if they are not, say that this connection cannot save a trip and that the comparison's «Keep link» reopens the same selection. Where they are listed, use `save_trip` only for explicit save or update intent and report success only from a confirmed result. Never interpret a heart as permission to share or contact someone. On a date change, preserve favorites and the previous variant; the UI updates without rewriting prior chat messages.

--- name: get-started description: Start using Lumina right after it is installed - say what it does and where it knows hotels best, then turn the traveller's trip into a first shortlist. --- # Get started with Lumina Run once, when Lumina has just been added, or when someone asks what Lumina can do. 1. In two sentences, say what Lumina does: it compares every hotel it covers in a destination for one trip, and shows the few that fit with the reason, the room to book and the proof. Name where it knows hotels best from the coverage line in the Lumina server's instructions; do not list destinations from memory. 2. Ask one question: where and when they are going, who is travelling, and what matters to them. Accept whatever they give; do not ask a second question before showing something. 3. As soon as there is a destination, follow `lumina:choose-a-hotel` and show the first shortlist. Keep it short and in the traveller's language. If the traveller already asked a question, skip steps 1 and 2 and answer it.

1.7.5. The listing says what Lumina does in plain words. Every kind of question has its own view in the chat: which hotel on a map, prices, reviews, photos, one part of a hotel and when to go.
