Description

From the marketplace listing

Receiptix is an expense tracker for iPhone and Android. Snap a receipt, forward an email, or send it to the Receiptix bot on WhatsApp or Telegram, and Receiptix reads the shop, the date, every line and its category. Ask about your spending in your own words: - How much did I spend on groceries last month? - Find my receipt for the TV. - What did the Barcelona trip cost, and who paid what? Receiptix answers with the same figures as the reports in the app, every receipt converted into your currency and every line counted under its own category. Its charts open down to each receipt, with its photo, its lines and the tax. That covers your own receipts and the projects you share with others, like trips and households. What this connection does and doesn't do: - It only reads. You add and change receipts in the Receiptix app. - To connect, sign in to your Receiptix account, or approve the connection on your phone in the Receiptix app, which works without an account too. You can disconnect at any time in the app's settings or at auth.receiptix.io/account.

name: get-started
description: Introduces Receiptix right after it is connected — what it can do here, whether the person has any receipts in it yet, and a few things to ask. Use when Receiptix has just been installed, or when the person asks what Receiptix can do or how to use it.
---

# Getting started with Receiptix

1. Say in two or three sentences what this is: Receiptix keeps the person's receipts and works out
where their money goes, and here they can ask about their spending and find any receipt. This
connection only reads — receipts are added and changed in the Receiptix app.

2. Look at their receipts: list them once, with a small limit.

   - **Nothing comes back** (and there is no next page): say plainly that there are no receipts
yet, that receipts are added in the Receiptix app for iPhone and Android — or by email, or
through its WhatsApp and Telegram bots — and that the app is at https://get.receiptix.io. Stop
     there.
   - **Receipts come back**: the person sees them. Don't list them. Suggest three things to ask that
fit what they have — a total for a recent month, a receipt from a shop they use, a project's
cost. If nothing suggests itself, use these:
     - "How much did I spend on groceries last month?"
     - "Find my receipt for the TV"
     - "Where did my money go this year, by month?"

Keep it short and factual. Never mention prices, plans or upgrades.

name: spending-questions
description: Answers questions about the person's spending and receipts in Receiptix — how much went where, in a month, on a trip or in a shared project, at a shop or on a category, compared with before — and finds a receipt by what was bought, where, or when. Use when they ask about money they spent, a purchase, a receipt, a bill, a trip's cost, or who paid what.

# Spending questions in Receiptix

Receiptix holds the person's receipts: photos, PDFs, forwarded emails and typed or spoken entries,
each read into a merchant, a date, line items with categories, and a total in the receipt's own
currency. Receipts live in their personal space or in projects — trips, households, shared budgets
— some of them shared with other people.

## Figures come from get_spending

- Any total, split or comparison — "how much on groceries in September", "by month this year",
"did we eat out more than last month" — is one `get_spending` call. It converts every receipt at
the app's rates and counts each line under its own category, exactly as the app's reports do.
- Never add up receipts from a listing yourself: amounts sit in different currencies, and a receipt
  can mix categories.
- A question about a trip, a household or "we" is about a project: find it with `list_projects`
  first, then pass its id.
- Say which space or project a figure is for, and in which currency. When some receipts could not
be converted, or are still being read, say so.

## Finding receipts

- By what was bought, where, or what it was for — "the headphones", "that dinner in Lisbon" —
use `search_receipts`; it matches meaning as well as exact words.
- By date, merchant, category, tag, who paid or amount — use `list_receipts` with a filter.
- For the lines, tax, the text read from the receipt or its original file, use `get_receipts`.
- When nothing matches, say so plainly, and suggest a different word, a wider period or another
project. Never invent a receipt, a price or a date.

## When the view is on screen

The person sees Receiptix's view with the figures or receipts. Answer the question in a sentence or
two — the number they asked for, or what stands out — rather than repeating the view.

This connection only reads. Receipts are added and changed in the Receiptix app.
