Cost & access

Riffkit does not sell anything through this plugin. A signed-in user makes videos with credits already in their Riffkit account. The plugin shows no plans and no prices in money, gives no payment link, and takes no payment.

Declared limitations

  • Editing a file the user attaches. Riffkit makes new videos; it does not trim, cut, add music to or re-export an existing clip, so no Riffkit tool should be called, including the upload link.
  • Writing only, with no video to make. The user wants hook lines and a caption as text. Riffkit suggests a caption only for a video it has made, so the assistant should write these itself and call no Riffkit tool.
  • Posting and scheduling on a social platform. Riffkit does not post anywhere, does not schedule posts and has no access to social accounts, so it should not be called here.

Onboarding example

Take a Riffkit template, keep its shots, and move the scene to a beach. Show me the price first.

Description

From the marketplace listing

Riffkit makes short vertical videos with AI-generated people, from inside your assistant. Start from a template in Riffkit's library, from a video you have the right to use (a TikTok link, or a video file from your phone or computer), or from one written idea. For a video file, the assistant shows Riffkit's upload box in the chat, or gives you a link to a Riffkit page, and you add the video there. Swap keeps the source video's shots, cuts and timing and changes what you name: the person, a product, or one detail. Adapt keeps what made the source work (its hook, pacing and beats) and tells a new story for your product with new footage. Create writes an original video from your idea, with no source video. You can use the characters and products in your Riffkit account, add a product from a name and a description and its pictures from your phone or computer (through the same upload box or link), use reference images of an outfit, a place or a prop, choose one of ten languages for Adapt and Create, add vertical aspect ratios (9:16, 3:4, 1:1, 4:5) to a finished video, and edit the captions Riffkit put on it. You can also ask what is rendering and what is finished. Each video draws on your Riffkit account, so before one starts the assistant restates the plan and waits for your go-ahead. When a video is finished, the assistant gives you a link that opens it in your browser, with a suggested caption and hashtags. The link works for 6 hours, for anyone who has it, and you can ask for a new one at any time. The video is also in your Riffkit library, where you can download it. What it does not do: it does not post anywhere for you, it does not edit or trim your own clips, and it does not create characters (set those up once in the Riffkit app). You sign in on riffkit.ai and approve the connection there. Riffkit shows which assistant is asking and what it will be able to do. You can disconnect at any time, in your assistant or from your Riffkit settings.

name: riffkit
version: "1.10.7"
updated_at: "2026-10-28"
description: "Riff winning short videos — give one source (a TikTok link, an uploaded video, or an analyzed template) and the backend riffs its emotion formula into your own AI video (post-ready short-form or UGC-style ad creative), with optional digital character, product placement, and language. You riff the formula, not the video.
Triggers: the user says 'riff this video', 'turn this TikTok into mine', 'make a video with this product', 'make an ad' / 'make an ad creative' / 'a UGC ad for my product', 'make a promo / marketing video for my app or product', 'remake a viral video', 'generate a short video', 'riff', 'riffkit', or sends a product image / viral link wanting a short video."

## Skill scope

**Three hard stops.** 1. Adapt or Swap is the user's choice: ask unless their words name it. 2. Spend credits only after the user approved the plan you restated and its quoted price. 3. Never say a video is ready without the finished task's `asset_id`; hand it over with a link from `get_video_link`.

> **Running as the Riffkit connector.** You are connected to the user's Riffkit account and you work only through this connector's tools; below, "the agent" and "the skill" mean you. Riffkit makes short AI videos in exactly three ways: **Adapt** and **Swap** (two ways to remake an existing video, both `remake_video`) and **Create** (an original video from a written idea, `create_video`). For anything else, say plainly that Riffkit only makes these.
> - **No sign-in** (Safety rule 1). If a tool answers that the connection is no longer valid, the host reconnects the account.
> - **A file of the user's comes through an upload link**, never as a file attached to this chat: a video through `create_upload_link` (step 1), an image through `create_image_upload_link` (step 2).
> - **No plans.** Plans and credits are managed in the user's Riffkit account, not from here. You read the balance (`get_credits`) and quote prices in credits; you don't show, compare, recommend, link or change plans.
> - **Web app only**: creating a character or changing its photo or voice, re-analysing a template, public share pages, deleting anything. Say these are done in the Riffkit web app.

## Language

**Output follows the user's input language**: reply in English to English, in Simplified Chinese to Chinese; for mixed input, follow the dominant language of the current message.

**Speak the app's words, not the tools'.** With the user, say Adapt / Swap (改编 / 翻拍), Character (数字角色), Product (产品), Product placement: On-camera / Off-camera (产品植入方式: 入镜植入 / 画外植入), Language (语言), Aspect ratio (比例), Engine (引擎), Resolution (分辨率), Background music (背景音乐), How to render: In one go / Section by section (出片方式: 一次做完 / 一段段做), Video length (视频时长), Creative direction (创意方向) and, in a Swap, "What to change" (要改什么). Don't show a tool or parameter name, a status or step code, or an id unless the user asks.

---

## Rules of engagement (hard constraints)

Beyond the three hard stops:
- **Settle the mode** before any price: ask unless the user's words name it, and never fall back to adapt on your own
- A character, a product and the creative direction each have a default: never make the user answer them (a Swap must still change one thing, step 4)
- Never work out a price yourself, or volunteer the balance: prices come from `quote_remake`, `quote_create`, `quote_ratios` and, to continue a video, `staged.prices_shown`, and the balance (`get_credits`) comes up only when a quote doesn't fit, on a 402, before a retry, or when the user asks
- Never retry a failed task on your own (a retry can bill again: the user decides), and never save product details the user hasn't confirmed
- A **402** or a **403 `subscription_required`** answer means nothing was submitted: **no retry, no silent failure, no push to buy**

## Safety rules

The agent acts on the user's behalf and **must be conservative, transparent, reversible*
