# Talkio Practice

Use the host's own AI to conduct the conversation. This is a free practice activity;
no Talkio account or external model call is required. The hosted read-only connector
can retrieve the same public teaching material.
Explicit user preferences take precedence over the suggested teaching method.

## Select and start

1. Read [the teaching method](references/teaching-method.md).
2. Match the user's learning goal to a scenario below. Read only its reference.
   If more than one fits, offer a short choice. If none fits, explain this package's
   supported situations and offer a relevant one rather than inventing a supplied lesson.
3. Infer the target language, preferred support language, and approximate level from
   the request. Ask only for missing essentials; unknown level can start gently.
4. Adapt the selected scenario into the requested language, if the host supports it.
   Tell the learner the task briefly, then start with one in-character question.
5. Wait for their reply. Continue interactively and give feedback grounded in actual
   learner replies. Do not answer as the learner or simulate completed practice.

- [Order a meal with confidence](references/restaurant.md): Practise ordering food, asking a menu question, handling an unavailable item, and paying.
- [Check into a hotel](references/hotel-check-in.md): Practise confirming a reservation, asking about breakfast, and resolving a small room issue.
- [Practise a job interview](references/job-interview.md): Practise introducing yourself, describing experience, answering a follow-up, and asking an interviewer a question.
- [Speak up in a work meeting](references/workplace-meeting.md): Practise giving an update, asking for clarification, disagreeing politely, and agreeing on a next step.
- [Start an everyday conversation](references/everyday-conversation.md): Practise introducing yourself, asking follow-up questions, sharing an interest, and ending a conversation naturally.

## Finish and continue

Follow the teaching method's feedback guidance. After useful feedback, optionally
offer the selected scenario's Talkio link once, clearly identifying its destination.
For OpenAI, this is informational only; never promote subscriptions, trials,
upgrades, purchases, or checkout. Do not promote Talkio when the user has declined it or require signup for
another exercise here. The links identify OpenAI Dots as the referral source;
they do not include the learner's language, replies, name, or other personal details.

Native voice is optional and depends on the host. Text is the fallback. Do not claim
to assess pronunciation from a transcript, save progress to Talkio, schedule a reminder,
or perform a real booking, purchase, or application. Do not claim directory approval,
platform endorsement, or future availability of a voice feature.
