Description
From the marketplace listing
Turn a photo of a real product, or a written description with sizes, into a clean technical drawing in ChatGPT. TechDraw AI draws the front, side and top views on an ISO or ANSI sheet with dimensions, and hands you files you can open in AutoCAD, Fusion, SolidWorks, a laser cutter or a 3D printer. With TechDraw AI, you can: • Send a photo of a part, a piece of furniture or a product and get a dimensioned orthographic drawing on an A3 or A4 sheet. • Draft to your trade: furniture shop drawings, garment technical flats for a tech pack, machine parts with tolerances, sheet metal with bend lines and a flat pattern, woodworking plans, and parts for 3D printing. • Describe a part in words, like an L bracket with its sizes and holes, and get a true-to-size drawing. • Convert a drawing, sketch or logo to DXF and DWG for CAD, laser and CNC. • Turn line art or a logo into a 3D-printable STL. • Render the product from a drawing as a photoreal studio image. • Turn a product photo or a drawing into a 3D model you can download as GLB and STL. Connect your TechDraw AI account to get started.

drawing-to-cad797 Bytes
--- name: drawing-to-cad description: Convert a drawing, sketch, scan or logo to DXF and DWG files with TechDraw AI. Use when the user wants a file for AutoCAD, Fusion, SolidWorks, Inkscape, a laser cutter or a CNC machine. --- # Drawing to DXF and DWG ## Steps 1. Use the image the user shared, or the link of a TechDraw AI drawing made earlier in the chat. 2. Ask how wide the drawing should be in millimetres if size matters (laser, CNC), and pass it as `width_mm`. 3. Call `image_to_dxf` with the image (free). The card lists the DXF and DWG downloads. ## Tips - Clean black lines on white trace best. For a faint scan, lower `threshold`; for white lines on black, set `invert: true`. - The output is traced outlines. For an editable parametric model, the user still needs a CAD program.
get-started1.71 KB
--- name: get-started description: Introduce TechDraw AI and make a first technical drawing. Use when someone has just connected TechDraw AI, asks what it can do, or wants to try it without a specific plan. --- # Get started with TechDraw AI TechDraw AI turns a photo of a real product, or a written description with sizes, into a dimensioned technical drawing, and turns drawings into files for CAD, laser cutting and 3D printing. ## What to offer - **Photo to drawing**: a product photo becomes front, side and top views on an ISO or ANSI sheet. - **Description to drawing**: a part described in words with its sizes, drawn true to size. - **Drawing to CAD**: DXF and DWG for AutoCAD, Fusion, SolidWorks, laser and CNC. - **Line art to STL**: a logo or outline extruded into a 3D-printable STL. - **Product render**: a photoreal studio image of the product in a drawing. - **3D model**: a GLB and STL from a product photo or a drawing. ## First run 1. Ask for a photo of the product if none was shared, or for the part's sizes if they want it drawn from a description. Never invent a product. 2. Call `generate_technical_drawing` with the photo, or `text_to_technical_drawing` with the description. Pass any real measurements the user gave in `measurements`. 3. After the drawing, offer the natural next step: DXF/DWG for CAD, a photoreal render, or a 3D model. The card has buttons for all three. ## Credits Drawings and renders cost 5 credits on the user's TechDraw AI account, 3D models 80 (Studio plan). DXF/DWG, STL and identifying a product are free. Call `get_credits` when the user asks what something costs, and before a 3D model. Failed 3D jobs are refunded automatically. Do not link to pricing or checkout pages in the chat.
image-to-stl668 Bytes
--- name: image-to-stl description: Turn a logo, outline, sign or line art into a 3D-printable STL with TechDraw AI. Use when the user wants to 3D print, emboss or extrude a flat image. --- # Line art to STL ## Steps 1. Use the image the user shared. Flat, high-contrast art works best: logos, silhouettes, outlines, text. 2. Ask for the size and thickness if they matter, and pass `size_mm` (the longest side) and `thickness_mm`. 3. Call `image_to_stl` with the image (free). The card offers the STL download. ## Tips - For a real 3D object from a photo, use the photo-to-3d skill instead. - Raise `min_feature_mm` if thin details would be too fragile to print.
photo-to-3d964 Bytes
--- name: photo-to-3d description: Turn a product photo or a technical drawing into a 3D model (GLB and STL) with TechDraw AI. Use when the user wants a 3D model, an AR preview, a 3D print of a real object, or an asset for Blender or a web viewer. --- # Photo or drawing to 3D model ## Steps 1. Ask for a photo of one object, ideally on a plain background at a three-quarter angle. A TechDraw AI drawing works too. 2. Tell the user it costs 80 credits and needs the Studio plan, and call `get_credits` if they are unsure of their balance. 3. Call `photo_to_3d` for a photo, or `drawing_to_3d` for a technical drawing. 4. The card shows progress and offers GLB and STL downloads when the model is ready, usually in 2 to 4 minutes. If it does not update, call `check_job` with the `job_id` every 15 seconds. ## Tips - Crop out other objects; the model is built from the whole image. - Set `textured: false` when the user only needs clean geometry for printing.
photo-to-drawing1.09 KB
--- name: photo-to-drawing description: Turn a photo of a product, part or piece of furniture into a dimensioned technical drawing with TechDraw AI. Use when the user shares a product photo and wants a drawing, blueprint, orthographic views or a spec sheet. --- # Photo to technical drawing ## Steps 1. Ask for one clear photo of the object if none was shared, ideally the whole object at a three-quarter angle on a plain background. 2. Ask for one or two real measurements (overall height or width) if the user knows them; the drawing is only to scale with at least one. 3. Call `generate_technical_drawing` with the photo as `image` (5 credits). Pass `measurements`, `units`, `standard` (ISO or ANSI) and `paper_size` when the user stated them, and `trade` when the object belongs to one (see the trade-drawings skill). 4. The card shows the drawing with buttons for DXF, a render and a 3D model. Keep the reply short and do not repeat the link. ## Tips - One object per photo; crop out the rest. - Use `views` to pick front, top, side or isometric, and `notes` for anything else, such as a material callout.
product-render628 Bytes
--- name: product-render description: Render the product shown in a technical drawing or sketch as a photoreal studio image with TechDraw AI. Use when the user wants a product shot, a catalogue image or a visual of a design before it is made. --- # Drawing to photoreal render ## Steps 1. Use the drawing or sketch the user shared, or a TechDraw AI drawing made earlier in the chat. 2. Ask for the material and finish if the user has not said, such as brushed steel, oak or matte black plastic. 3. Call `render_product` with the image (5 credits). Pass `material`, `background`, `angle` and `style` when the user named them.
text-to-drawing721 Bytes
--- name: text-to-drawing description: Draw a part from a written description with sizes using TechDraw AI, such as a bracket, plate, flange or shelf. Use when the user describes a part in words instead of sharing a photo. --- # Description to technical drawing ## Steps 1. Make sure the description has the main sizes: overall dimensions, thickness, and the size and position of holes or cutouts. Ask for any that are missing rather than guessing. 2. Call `text_to_technical_drawing` with the description as `prompt` (5 credits). Set `units`, `standard` and `paper_size` if the user named them. 3. The drawing is true to size, so the DXF from it can go straight to a laser cutter or CNC. Offer that as the next step.
trade-drawings1.84 KB
--- name: trade-drawings description: Make a trade-specific drawing from a photo with TechDraw AI: furniture shop drawings, garment technical flats for a tech pack, machined parts with tolerances, sheet metal with bend lines and a flat pattern, woodworking plans, or parts to 3D print. Use when the user names one of these trades or the photo clearly belongs to one. --- # Drawings for a trade `generate_technical_drawing` takes a `trade` that drafts to that trade's conventions. Pick it from the object, not from keywords. | trade | Use for | What the drawing carries | Good next step | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `furniture` | tables, chairs, cabinets, shelves | overall sizes, part sizes, joinery, material | DXF, render, 3D model | | `clothes` | a garment laid flat | front and back flats, seams, topstitching, closures, measurement callouts | render | | `machine-parts` | machined or cast parts | tolerances, hole and thread callouts, sections, finish | DXF, 3D model | | `sheet-metal` | brackets, panels, enclosures | thickness, bend lines and radius, flat pattern | DXF for the laser or plasma table | | `woodworking` | jigs, shelves, boxes, CNC projects | every board as thickness × width × length, joinery, screw positions | DXF for the CNC router | | `3d-printing` | a printed part, or a part to remake | functional sizes, wall thickness, holes, bed face | 3D model (GLB and STL) | ## Steps 1. Get one clear photo of the object and, if the user knows it, one real measurement. 2. Call `generate_technical_drawing` with `image`, `trade` and any `measurements` (5 credits). 3. Offer the next step from the table; the card already has buttons for it. Keep the reply short. ## Notes - Leave `trade` out for anything outside these six; the plain drawing is the right result then. - A written description with sizes, not a photo, goes to `text_to_technical_drawing` instead.
