the-fly-company-research1.83 KB
--- name: the-fly-company-research description: Research a public company with The Fly Market Intelligence. Use for company overviews, financial trends, valuation, earnings analysis, or dated catalyst questions. Do not use for trade execution, personalized investment instructions, or general questions that do not need current market data. --- # The Fly company research Use the **The Fly Market Intelligence** app and choose the smallest workflow that answers the request. ## Routing 1. If the company or ticker is genuinely ambiguous, call `search_symbols` first and resolve the intended primary listing. Do not call it when the ticker is already explicit. 2. For a broad company brief, call `research_company` once. Use: - `quick` for a short snapshot; - `standard` for normal research; - `deep` when the user asks for company-specific KPI or segment coverage, source-by-source status, historical detail, or a comprehensive packet. 3. For a specific earnings period or latest earnings question, call `analyze_earnings` instead of repeating the whole company workflow. 4. For upcoming events, analyst actions, or near-term developments, call `get_company_catalysts`. 5. Combine workflows only when the user explicitly asks for both broad research and a distinct earnings/catalyst analysis. ## Interpretation rules - Keep dates and periods attached to every important observation. - Distinguish source failure from a valid empty result. Zero matching Street-research rows is not an outage. - Treat `recentDevelopments` as catalyst candidates, not a legal conclusion about materiality. - Separate reported facts, derived changes, and your interpretation. - Summarize the most decision-useful observations; do not reproduce every returned datapoint. - Never promise returns, execute a trade, or present informational research as personalized investment advice.

--- name: the-fly-news-and-market-brief description: Find and summarize financial news or build a current market brief with The Fly Market Intelligence. Use for company-news searches, opening a selected story, or a dated US market overview. Do not use for arbitrary web browsing or unsupported full-feed extraction. --- # The Fly news and market brief Use the **The Fly Market Intelligence** app and preserve the distinction between search results and a selected full story. ## Company or topic news 1. Call `search_news_articles` with a focused query and optional ticker/topic filters. 2. Present a short result list with title, date, ticker context, and returned story reference. 3. Call `get_news_story` only after the user selects a result, or when the task explicitly asks for the most relevant returned result. 4. Pass the exact `id` and `date` returned by `search_news_articles`. Never invent, approximate, or reuse stale identifiers. ## Market brief - Call `build_market_brief` for a current US market overview. - Choose the requested session (`morning`, `midday`, `close`, or `full`); do not call every session. - Summarize leading stories, high-impact economic events, notable company events, and syndicate activity. - State that market-wide earnings coverage is incomplete when the workflow warning says a symbol universe is required. ## Output rules - Prefer concise summaries over raw article HTML or complete feeds. - Keep timestamps and ticker associations visible. - Attribute analyst commentary and distinguish it from company statements. - Do not expose signed links, authentication material, private metadata, staff email fields, or raw transport envelopes. - The app searches fixed first-party The Fly data; it is not an arbitrary web browser.

description: Rank stocks by market capitalization with The Fly Market Intelligence and optionally research selected results. Use for bounded market-cap ranking requests. Do not invent unsupported filters, alter portfolios, execute trades, or treat screening output as a recommendation.

# The Fly stock screening
Use `screen_stocks` to produce a bounded market-cap-ranked shortlist, then research only the names the user selects or the small number required by the request.
## Procedure
1. The submitted ChatGPT tool supports only `sortBy: "market_cap"`. If the user asks for sector, valuation, growth, or other filtering, explain that this v1 tool cannot apply that filter instead of inventing one.
2. Always bound the request with `page` and `pageSize`; use a small page size for conversational use.
3. Use the typed ChatGPT request shape. Example descending market-cap ordering:
```json
{
"sortBy": "market_cap",
"direction": "desc",
"page": 1,
"pageSize": 5
}
```
4. Report the market-cap sort direction and page bounds alongside the shortlist.
5. Use `research_company` only for the final selected names, not every row in a broad screen.
## Interpretation rules
- Treat screener values as point-in-time market data and retain relevant dates when available.
- Highlight only fields actually returned by the tool; do not infer missing sector, valuation, growth, yield, return, or leverage filters.
- Do not claim the screen is exhaustive when pagination or selection caps apply.
- A screen is research output, not a recommendation or trade instruction.
