Description

From the marketplace listing

Build and manage WordPress sites through a conversation. Describe your business, portfolio, or store, and get a complete site tailored to your needs. You can also work on a site you already have to refine pages, update menus, connect a domain, check your traffic, and update your design. Here are some ways to start: - “Show me my top 10 posts this month and what they have in common.” - “Look through the images in my site’s media library, find which are missing alt text, and give me suggestions for each.” - “Set up a scheduled task: Every Monday, summarize my site’s traffic and flag anything that changed.” You stay in control. Choose what your agent can do on each site and whether it asks before every change or goes ahead on its own. Works with any site built on WordPress.com or through the Jetpack plugin. Authenticate through WordPress.com to set up the connection and start chatting.

# Edit WordPress Block Content

## Discover Site Context

- When a target site and the WordPress.com MCP server are available, prefer individual tools when available and sufficient. Call `wpcom-blocks-allowed` to discover registered blocks before creating or editing content.
- When styling content, use `wpcom-theme-presets` and `wpcom-theme-styles` for theme tokens and styles, and `wpcom-global-styles-get` for the site's overrides. Prefer returned theme tokens in supported block attributes over hard-coded values or custom style settings; use custom styles only when theme and block attributes cannot achieve the requested result.
- If the target site or WordPress.com MCP server is unavailable, limit new content to core blocks and custom blocks already present in the supplied content.

## Requirements

- You must keep content editable in the Block Editor or Site Editor which requires using only registered core blocks or existing plugin blocks.
- Do not add decorative HTML comments outside block delimiters.
- Preserve unfamiliar custom blocks, dynamic blocks, references, attributes, classes, and inner markup unless the request explicitly changes them.
- Keep block attributes and saved markup consistent. Do not invent media IDs, URLs, reusable-block references, or custom block attributes.

Release notes

Moves eligible WordPress.com operations to individual tools exposed at the top level, following new ChatGPT guidelines. Legacy grouped facade tools are temporarily retained to preserve compatibility with existing ChatGPT connections that were previously approved while the individual tools await approval. New usage should prefer individual tools when available and sufficient. The following legacy grouped facade tools will be retired after approval and completion of the compatibility transition: wpcom-mcp-content-authoring, wpcom-mcp-site-editor-context, wpcom-mcp-site-editing, wpcom-mcp-account, wpcom-mcp-site, wpcom-mcp-user-management, wpcom-mcp-plugin-management and wpcom-mcp-create-site. Adds the domain purchase tool approved by OpenAI, which provides domain availability, pricing and WordPress.com checkout links.
