Shares are rounded with the largest-remainder method, so they always add up to the exact total; you can also round everyone up to whole units. Add every shared cost from a trip, a vacation rental, or a month of household bills, each split equally, by exact amounts, by percentages, or by shares. You get each person's balance (paid minus share, always summing to zero) and the fewest payments that settle everyone, such as "Ben pays Ana 36.00".
