Description
From the marketplace listing
Currency converter and exchange rate history: convert money between about 30 currencies with European Central Bank reference rates for today or any date back to 1999-01-04, then download the daily rates as a CSV. Each conversion gives the converted amount, the rate, the inverse rate and the actual rate date. When the ECB did not publish a rate on the date you give (a weekend or a holiday), the tool uses the last published working day and says so, for example "ECB publishes no rate on Saturdays; used Friday 2026-10-16". Amounts are rounded half to even at the currency's decimal places: 0 for JPY, KRW, HUF and ISK, 2 for the other supported currencies. Rates are shown with 6 significant digits, and converting a currency to itself returns a rate of 1. Rate history returns the published daily rates for a date range of up to 366 days and for up to 5 quote currencies, with the minimum, the maximum, the average and the first-to-last change in percent, a line chart, and a CSV file to download. Only published working days are listed; weekends and ECB holidays have no rate. Typical uses: a trip budget across two currencies, checking the euro to dollar rate on a past date, a finance spreadsheet that needs the daily rates as CSV, or comparing how a pair moved over a quarter. Limitations: the rates are European Central Bank euro reference rates for about 30 currencies, published on working days around 16:00 CET; they are indicative mid-market rates, not live market rates and not the rate a bank or card charges. There is no cryptocurrency, no metals and no financial advice. Rate history covers published days only and a range of up to 366 days per request.

--- name: currency-converter description: Convert money with dated European Central Bank reference rates (convert_currency) and show the exchange rate history for a date range with a CSV download (rate_history). --- # Zovo Currency Converter Use `convert_currency` when the user wants a currency converter, an exchange rate today, a rate on a date, or to convert usd to eur (and other pairs). Use `rate_history` when the user wants a historical exchange rate, an exchange rate history, or a CSV of rates over a date range. 1. `convert_currency`: give `amount`, `from`, `to` (one to ten codes separated by commas) and an optional `date` (YYYY-MM-DD, 1999-01-04 or later, not in the future). Call it right away when the request has an amount and two currencies. Omit `date` for the latest published rate. 2. `rate_history`: give `base`, `quote` (one to five codes separated by commas), `start` and `end` (at most 366 days). It returns min, max, average and the first-to-last change in percent plus a CSV download link. 3. Share the converted amount, the rate, the rate date and any note (for example that the ECB did not publish on a weekend or holiday) from the result. Include the CSV link for `rate_history`. 4. Rates are European Central Bank euro reference rates for about 30 currencies, published on working days around 16:00 CET. They are indicative mid-market rates, not a bank or card rate, and there is no cryptocurrency. Do not use this skill for crypto, metals, stock prices, or financial advice.
