Description
From the marketplace listing
Merge two spreadsheets on an ID column, the VLOOKUP job, and see how each row matched. Attach two CSV or XLSX files (or one workbook with two sheets, or paste the tables) and Zovo Spreadsheet Merge joins them on a key column such as customer ID, SKU or invoice number. It picks the key for you and explains why, or you name it, including a key made of two columns. Real exports rarely line up character for character. Zovo Spreadsheet Merge cleans keys in a fixed order and counts each step: extra spaces, upper/lower case, look-alike characters (Cyrillic letters, full-width digits, en dashes, accents), XLSX number formatting (12345.0, 1.2345E+05, 12,345), dashes and spaces inside IDs, leading zeros (C00123 = C123) and a letter prefix used by only one file (C123 = 123). The result says how many rows matched as typed and how many needed each clean-up, with examples. You can turn any clean-up off. If two different keys would become the same, those rows are left unmatched and listed as ambiguous instead of being guessed. Rows that still do not match are listed for both files with a likely reason: blank key, an ID outside the other file's range, a gap in the range, a different ID format, XLSX scientific notation that dropped digits, or a near miss with the closest real key. Duplicate keys in the lookup file are counted, with the rows they would add to the merge, and a many-to-many explosion is capped with a warning. Total rows and repeated header rows are removed and listed. Downloads: an XLSX workbook (Merged, Unmatched left, Unmatched right, Duplicates, Summary) and a merged CSV. Left join keeps all left rows like VLOOKUP; inner and full joins are available. It also stacks many files into one: up to 24 monthly exports whose column names or order changed during the year (Amount vs Amt, Date vs Txn Date). Columns are aligned by identical name, then the same name with different spacing, then a synonym table, then fuzzy matches listed for you to confirm. A Source file column is added, dates are read with the day/month order decided once per file, EU number formats are handled, and each column decision is listed in the workbook. Limitations: CSV, TSV and .xlsx only (save older .xls files as .xlsx); up to 100,000 rows per file for joins and 200,000 rows in total when stacking. Files are read once and downloads expire after about an hour. It does not do mail merge (letters, labels, emails).

Declared limitations
- Mail merge of letters is a different job. Expected: no call to join_spreadsheets or combine_spreadsheets.
- Explaining a formula needs no file work. Expected: the assistant explains VLOOKUP and calls no tool.
- Comparing two drafts of a contract is document comparison. Expected: no tool call.

description: Spreadsheet merge tools. join_spreadsheets joins two CSV/Excel files on an ID column (VLOOKUP job) with counted key clean-ups (spaces, case, leading zeros, Excel number formats), unmatched-row reasons and duplicate checks; combine_spreadsheets stacks up to 24 files with drifting column names into one sheet and lists every column decision.

# Zovo Spreadsheet Merge
Use `join_spreadsheets` when the user wants to VLOOKUP, match or merge two files side by side on an ID: "vlookup two spreadsheets", "merge orders with customers by customer ID", "why don't these IDs match". Pass the main file (rows to keep) as `left_file` and the lookup file as `right_file`. One workbook with both tables on two sheets can go alone in `left_file`. Without files, paste each table as CSV text in `left_table` / `right_table`, header row first.
1. Leave `left_key`/`right_key` out unless the user names the key; the tool explains the key it picked. Use a list for a two-column key.
2. `join_type` left (default) keeps every left row; inner = only matches; full = everything.
3. If the user says IDs are case-sensitive, or that 0123 and 123 are different codes, pass `skip_normalizations` (["case"], ["zeros"]).
4. Reply with the match rate first, then each clean-up with its row count (these are the rows a plain VLOOKUP misses), the unmatched reasons, duplicate-key warnings, and the two download links (they expire in about an hour). Quote keys exactly as the tool shows them.
Use `combine_spreadsheets` to stack or append files: "combine 12 monthly CSVs", "combine excel files with different column names", "combine all sheets into one". Pass all files in `files` (up to 24), or pasted tables in `tables`. Read back the column decisions, list every fuzzy match under "please confirm", and offer `column_map` (e.g. {"Amt":"Amount"}) to change any. Pass `date_order` only when the user states the date format.
Do not use these tools for mail merge (letters, labels, emails), for comparing two drafts of a document, or for explaining Excel formulas.

Release notes
Initial release: two-file joins (left, inner, full) with key auto-detection, counted key clean-ups (spaces, case, look-alike characters, XLSX number formats, separators, leading zeros, letter prefix), unmatched-row reasons, duplicate and fan-out checks, and stacking of up to 24 files with column alignment and per-file date order. XLSX and CSV downloads. Uses the detected native link helper for downloads, preserving standard MCP Apps compatibility.
