Take a typing speed test without leaving the chat. Zovo Typing Test opens a live test card: the passage appears, the timer starts on your first keystroke, and every letter turns green or red as you type. When time is up you get your WPM, raw WPM, accuracy, errors, consistency, and a chart of your speed for each second. Choose 15, 30, 60 or 120 seconds (or any length up to 10 minutes, for example a 5-minute test for a dispatcher or clerk job), or type one full passage. Pick common words, sentences with punctuation, words mixed with numbers, or code snippets. You can also paste your own paragraph and be tested on exactly that text. After each test the card lists your weakest keys and builds a practice drill from words that use them. Download a result card (SVG, for example "62 WPM · 97% accuracy · 60 s") or send a friend a challenge link: it opens the same passage in any browser, shows your score to beat, and scores their run the same way. How scoring works (the standard formula, computed exactly on the server): - Typed words are compared with the passage word by word, letter by letter. A wrong letter is an error, a letter beyond the end of a word is an extra, and letters skipped when you jump to the next word are missed. A space between words counts as one character. - WPM = (correct characters / 5) / minutes. Raw WPM uses all typed characters. - Accuracy = correct characters / (correct characters + errors). - Consistency = 100% × (1 − standard deviation ÷ mean) of your speed in each second. Works on phones with the on-screen keyboard, including autocorrect and IME input. Curly quotes and dashes from phone keyboards count as their plain keyboard versions. Good for job-test practice (data entry, medical scribe, 911 dispatcher, clerk), classrooms, anyone learning to type, and quick warm-ups. Limitations: passages are in English (custom text can be in any language your keyboard types); results are not saved between conversations and there is no leaderboard; a timed test runs from 10 seconds to 10 minutes.

Map the request to settings and call the tool right away (no questions needed): - Length: `duration_seconds` 15, 30, 60 (default) or 120; job tests often use 60, 180 or 300. "Full passage" or "this paragraph" means `mode: "passage"`. - Style: `difficulty` `words` (default), `sentences` (punctuation and capitals, good for job or data-entry tests), `numbers`, or `code`. - Their own text: pass it verbatim as `custom_text` (5-3,000 characters); the test defaults to a full passage. - Practice: pass weak keys from a previous result as `focus_keys`, e.g. `"eth"`. - Retake or fair comparison: reuse the `seed` from an earlier test. 2. The widget times the test from the first keystroke and scores it with `calculate_typing_score` automatically. Do not ask the user to paste what they typed. 3. Call `calculate_typing_score` yourself only when the user gives the target text, what they typed, and the time. Never estimate WPM by hand. 4. After a result, report WPM, accuracy and errors, mention the weakest keys, and offer a drill (`show_typing_test` with `focus_keys`). Share the card or challenge link only if the user asks. Scoring is word by word: WPM = (correct characters / 5) / minutes, where spaces between correctly reached words count as characters; accuracy = correct / (correct + errors). Do not use this skill for internet speed tests, reading-speed tests, word counts, or typing lessons that do not involve a test.
