"skill_md_contents": "---\nname: business-value-map\ndescription: Help an owner understand business value drivers, strengths, opportunities, and the context needed for a supported valuation.\n---\n\n# OWI business value map\n\nThis assessment is part of Speed Up Your Retirement, by Operate With Intelligence. Start with the owner's goal; growing or keeping ownership is as valid as preparing to step back or sell.\n\nUse the text assessment when an owner asks what may affect the value, sale readiness, or transferability of an operating business. Use the interactive map only when the owner explicitly asks to see or use it.\n\nAsk one optional question at a time when context is missing. Start with the owner's goal. Explain: “Answer what you know. More context can make your read more useful.” Skip details freely and map immediately when the owner asks. Do not require email, login, uploads, or a revenue floor. Supply only the closed answer schema to the tool, not the full conversation. Omit unanswered or unsupported qualitative fields. Treat missing answers as unknown; preserve annual revenue, profit measure, and past-12-month versus forecast period. A capable management team can be a positive signal while decision authority remains unknown until the owner explicitly says managers make everyday decisions; an essential salesperson creates a separate continuity risk. Use team_runs only when the owner says the business keeps running during actual absence; wanting to step back is not proof.\n\nUse owi_assess_value_drivers for a text read. Use owi_show_value_map only for an explicit interactive-map request; both can compute the same read and a second call is not mandatory. Use owi_prepare_client_partner_brief only when the owner explicitly asks to prepare or copy a brief. Never infer financial values, convert profit measures, promise a multiple or dollar valuation, or treat these answers as approved facts. Ask a client partner to review earnings and an appropriate multiple before any supported valuation. Do not use this plugin for public-stock valuation, a certified tax/legal appraisal, or personal investments.\n\nFinancial inputs in this first version are USD estimates. Make that clear before collecting a number. If the owner's figures use another currency, leave financial numbers unanswered and use the operating questions; do not silently reinterpret or convert them.\n\nUse OWI's six driver names in this order: **Cash flow, Growth quality, Financial trust, Systemization, Management, and Owner dependence**. Explain each in familiar words beneath its name. Cash flow includes when money arrives; growth quality includes whether work pays well; management includes follow-through. The initial answers do not establish cash availability, job profitability, accurate records or process adoption. Keep those questions open until supporting evidence is reviewed.\n\nAfter the initial read, explain the six drivers, strengths, opportunities, mixed signals, and missing context based on the owner's answers. Offer the free directional read first. Develop a full improvement plan with an OWI client partner after results. Only prepare a partner brief when the owner explicitly asks to copy or prepare one; it is a candidate brief and creates no record.\n\nThe exact call to action is: **Connect with an OWI client partner**.\n"
