Times written without am/pm, like 9 to 5, are read sensibly and the reading is shown at the top of the result so you can confirm it.\n\nEvery day is shown in hours and minutes and in decimal hours, so you can copy the right number into payroll. Hours are split into regular, overtime, and double time per workweek: the US federal rule (over 40 hours a week at 1.5x), California daily rules (over 8 hours a day, double time over 12, and the 7th consecutive day), or your own thresholds. A biweekly time card is split into its two workweeks, so overtime is never averaged away.
