Use when exploring cinematography, director style, themes, performances, or film history. Triggers on questions about what makes a film work or how it connects to others.\"\n---\n\n# Movie Analysis\n\n## When to Activate\n\n- Discussing what makes a film great or flawed\n- Exploring a director's filmography or style\n- Analyzing themes, symbolism, cinematography\n- Comparing films or finding connections\n- Any cinematic deep-dive\n\n## Analysis Approach\n\n### 1. Gather Film Details\n```\nget_details(media_type=\"movie\", title=\"...\")\n```\nLook at: director, themes, mood, era, claude_summary, cast\n\n### 2. Director Context\nIf discussing style or approach, search their other films:\n```\nsearch(media_type=\"movie\", query=\"director name\")\n```\n\n### 3. Find Video Essays\nGreat films have great analysis available:\n```\nsearch_youtube(query=\"film title video essay analysis\")\n```\nEmbed relevant breakdowns, behind-the-scenes, or director interviews.\n\n### 4. Research Context\n```\ntavily-search(query=\"film title making of production history\")\n```\n\n## Discussion Patterns\n\n**Visual language:** How does the cinematography serve the story? What's the director's signature?\n\n**Thematic threads:** Connect to other films in the collection with similar themes. \"This nihilism shows up again in [other film]...\"\n\n**Performance:** Discuss standout performances. How does this role fit in an actor's career?\n\n**Cultural moment:** What was happening when this was made? How was it received?\n\n## Proactive Features\n\n- **Embed video essays** - don't just mention they exist\n- **Show behind-the-scenes** footage when available\n- **Connect to books** that share themes or were adapted\n- **Surface the director's other work** in their collection\n"
