# Trellis terms

Original Trellis material is dedicated under [CC0 1.0 Universal](LICENSE) and
provided as-is, without warranty or a promise of support.

Users control which handbooks to create, their adopted practices, and the work
performed using them. Review generated instructions and supporting code, test
scripts within their documented scope, protect sensitive data, and respect the
licenses and terms of any third-party material.

A handbook records working methods. It does not grant access, credentials, or
authority to execute work, modify unrelated files, or publish results. Ordinary
work that uses a handbook retains its own authorization and host permissions.
Trellis skill instructions describe intended agent behavior. They do not enforce
that behavior or guarantee model compliance.

Optional scripts must operate within the declared workspace and task scope.
Their location does not confine arbitrary code. Use host enforcement and evaluate
the actual program's effects before relying on it. Host models, tools, services,
data handling, and permissions are separate from Trellis.
