# [Area] handbook

[What body of work this handbook supports and which decisions it helps contributors make.]

<!-- Replace this instruction with the single trellis:handbook marker and the verified relative workspace path. -->

## Scope and ownership

- Workspace: [relative link to the declared workspace].
- Owning area: [relative link to the handbook's parent].
- Shared guidance: [applicable handbooks, including any deliberate local specialization].
- Work sources: [where the area's current work and authoritative records live].

## How to use this handbook

Start with the guidance relevant to your task. Practices explain recurring
decisions; checks define expectations and how to evaluate them; Playbooks describe
recurring procedures; templates support authoring. Consult the forms present here;
you do not need the Trellis skills to use them.

Checks apply whenever their conditions hold, including work without a Playbook.
Inspect the required evidence: reading a check or filling a template does not
establish a pass. Explain missing evidence and when a check does not apply.

Keep current plans, facts, decisions, and authorized saved findings in their work
sources. Storage conventions identify homes for requested outputs; they do not
require extra files. If the task asks for findings in the response, report them
there without creating a separate report. Follow guidance within your task's
permissions; a documented procedure does not authorize its execution. Ask the
owner when a consequential conflict or missing decision
cannot be resolved from authoritative guidance. Surface useful method corrections;
ordinary work does not automatically request handbook edits. Trellis's restrictions
on handbook maintenance do not restrict a separately authorized work task.

empty categories and adapt this organization to the area's needs.]
