# OpenCompare plugin

OpenCompare helps AI agents research, shortlist, and compare business software through the public HTML and JSON resources at [opencompare.net](https://opencompare.net).

This is a skill-only plugin. It includes no MCP server, executable code, authentication, background process, or write action. The shared Agent Skill lives at `skills/opencompare/SKILL.md`; the OpenAI and Anthropic manifests package that same skill without duplicating its instructions.

## Local validation

Validate the shared skill and both plugin packages before publishing:

Load the plugin directly in Claude Code while developing:

The repository's `.agents/plugins/marketplace.json` makes the same package installable as a Codex marketplace plugin. Its `.claude-plugin/marketplace.json` makes the repository directly addable as a Claude Code marketplace.

For the OpenAI Plugin Directory, upload `dist/opencompare-plugin.zip`. The archive contains the full plugin under one top-level `opencompare` directory, including `.codex-plugin/plugin.json`.

Use `dist/opencompare-skill.zip` only on surfaces that explicitly request a bare Agent Skill. That archive intentionally contains no plugin manifest.

## Submission targets

- Anthropic community directory: submit the public GitHub URL for this plugin at <https://platform.claude.com/plugins/submit>.
- OpenAI Plugin Directory: submit the skills-only bundle at <https://platform.openai.com/plugins>.

OpenCompare records are neutral starting points, not rankings or endorsements. Fast-changing details such as price, plan limits, integrations, and contractual terms should be verified with the linked official vendor sources.
