But the most powerful version of that is not "you become annoying" — it's "you become the wrong person entirely." ## Mechanic Super Bowl spot: a brutal American football game. One player is performing terribly — it's Betty White, age 88, getting tackled and talking like someone's grandmother. A teammate hands him a Snickers. He transforms back into a young man. "You're not you when you're hungry." The casting of Betty White was the entire joke and the entire idea. ## Why it worked Betty White was the perfect embodiment of the wrong-person-in-the-wrong-context insight. The contrast between her actual identity (beloved elderly comedienne) and the expected identity (young male athlete) was so extreme that no explanation was needed. Casting was the creative decision. ## Steal When an insight is about displacement or mismatch (being the wrong person, in the wrong mood, in the wrong situation), the most efficient execution is extreme casting. Find the human who IS the mismatch. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p11]] - Sibling: [[metro-trains-dumb-ways-to-die-2012.md|Dumb Ways to Die]] - Sibling: [[old-spice-man-your-man-could-smell-like-2010.md|The Man Your Man Could Smell Like]] - Emotion match: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
