What if you gave the Whopper to people who had never heard of McDonald's or Burger King — no brand bias, just taste? ## Mechanic CP+B sent documentary teams to remote villages in Romania, Thailand, and Greenland — communities where fast food had never reached. Local "Whopper virgins" tried both a Whopper and a Big Mac for the first time. Their reactions were filmed. The Whopper won in unscripted taste tests. A 30-minute documentary and TV spots aired the results. ## Why it worked The challenge with taste-test advertising is that viewers distrust it — they assume it's staged with brand loyalists or screened results. Going to people who had never heard of either brand removed that objection structurally. The absurdism (flying a film crew to Greenland to feed someone a Whopper) also made the campaign audacious and PR-worthy. The idea was simultaneously product proof (P14) and entertainment through the preposterousness of the premise (P11). ## Steal When category comparison claims are universally distrusted, remove the variable everyone suspects: brand bias. The more extreme the measure to eliminate it, the more credible the claim. The stunt quality also earns free media that the production budget could never buy directly. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p14]] - Sibling: [[db-export-brewtroleum-2015.md|Brewtroleum]] - Sibling: [[google-parisian-love-2010.md|Parisian Love]] - Emotion match: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
