# Super. Human. (Channel 4 · 2021)

## Insight
Nine years after reframing Paralympians as elite athletes and expanding to all disabled people, the audience had absorbed that framing — the next truth to tell was the unglamorous one: the suffering, failures, and depression behind the performance.

## Mechanic
A film showing the unseen reality: training injuries, mental health crises, the monotony of rehabilitation, moments of genuine despair — alongside the eventual triumph. Athletes as human beings first, competitors second.

## Why it worked
The platform survived nine years because each iteration raised the level of honesty rather than the level of spectacle. Triumphal → normalizing → truthful is a coherent evolution that builds trust rather than fatigue.

## Steal
A long-running platform earns the right to harder truths over time. Use that accumulated trust to say what no earlier iteration could — the audience is ready for it because the brand built toward it.
