The only credible tone for a brand with New York roots was silence, or something close to it — testimony rather than message. ## Mechanic A film using the streets of Broadway as its canvas, structured as a visual poem — typography and images from the city itself carrying the emotional weight without conventional advertising structure or explicit brand message. ## Why it worked In a moment of collective grief, the brands that spoke least spoke loudest. The typographic, poetic register signalled that this was not an ad trying to capitalize — it was a brand bearing witness. ## Steal In moments of genuine cultural crisis, the question is not "what do we say?" but "what register is appropriate?" Sometimes the register is poetry, not persuasion. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p16]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] - Emotion match: [[calm-the-last-photo-2022.md|The Last Photo]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
