# Facebook Not Live (unknown · 2017)

## Insight
TODO: Verify brand. The execution riffs on the Facebook Live format — the ubiquitous live-streaming feature — by presenting something deliberately un-live or anti-climactic, puncturing the platform's inherent self-importance.

## Mechanic
A film or series that parodies the Facebook Live format, subverting the expectation of urgency and importance that the "Live" label confers on trivial or absurd content.

## Why it worked
Absurd as carrier (P11): the gap between the "Live" gravitas and the mundane or ridiculous content is the joke. Cultural hijack (P05): the campaign borrows the visual and functional language of a dominant platform and inverts it. Platform fluency is the creative tool.

## Steal
Any format that carries inherent urgency or status (Live, Breaking News, Alert) can be subverted by filling it with anti-climactic content. The gap between signal and noise is the comedy.
