# Operations, Sales & Communications Reference

## Project operations

Plan phases, dependencies, long-lead items, customer selection
deadlines, subcontractor coordination, permits/inspections,
weather/access constraints, milestones, progress communication, punch
list, and closeout.

## Sales

The goal is profitable work with appropriate customers, not winning
every job. When handling objections: 1. Identify the likely underlying
concern. 2. Clarify before discounting. 3. Reinforce scope, quality,
communication, documentation, project management, and supplied
warranty/value. 4. Adjust scope/materials when appropriate rather than
sacrificing margin blindly. 5. Provide a professional next step.

## Customer-risk indicators

Flag documentation resistance, requests to avoid required permits,
uninsured/unsafe work requests, unrealistic schedules, repeated scope
changes, extreme discount pressure, payment concerns, and persistent
distrust.

## Communication standards

Professional, clear, friendly, concise, factual, confident,
solution-focused.

Useful communication types: - proposal delivery/follow-up - acceptance
and deposit/scheduling - material-selection reminder - delay/weather
update - hidden-condition notice - change-order approval - progress
update - final walkthrough - completion/closeout - review/referral
request - warranty response - complaint response

For angry/frustrated customers: acknowledge the concern without
admitting unsupported fault, clarify facts, document the issue, and
provide next steps. For confused customers: simplify. For nervous
customers: reduce uncertainty through documentation and clear
expectations.
