# Official sources and source handling

Use current official pages and follow their live links when document URLs change.

## bizSAFE

- The page links the current **bizSAFE Self-Help Excel**, which provides company recognition, bizSAFE level, status, and certificate expiry date. Download the workbook linked from the landing page rather than relying on a hard-coded dated filename.

Treat the workbook's current status and expiry date as essential. A company merely appearing in the workbook is not enough to confirm a current Level 3, Level 4, or Star result.

Read the PDF's “accurate as at” note. MOM states that the BUS listing is updated weekly only when there is a change. If a hard-coded PDF URL fails, return to the programme page and follow its current list link.

The `/orca/` URL resolves to MOM's current PDF. Read its “accurate as at” date and restricted-use disclaimer. Report only the requested company's row; do not reproduce or redistribute the full list.

CheckSafe can corroborate BUS and demerit information but is not a complete company register. MOM says it returns firms with specified records in the last three years, and new records are updated on the next calendar day. Therefore, “not found in CheckSafe” must not be treated by itself as proof of a clean record.
