# Visual Approaches For Explanation Choose a style because it makes the subject easier to follow. Record a short palette, shape rule, texture rule and motion rule, then reuse them across scenes. Do not load or generate every style to answer one brief. | Approach | Useful for | Construction | Check | |---|---|---|---| | Observed world | Products, places, physical procedures | Verified footage/captures plus restrained editorial overlays | Evidence matches the spoken claim | | Editorial illustration | Mechanisms, social ideas and reconstructed situations | A consistent shape language, limited palette, recurring reference subjects | Metaphor is understandable and reconstruction is not presented as footage | | Paper and print | Friendly explainers with tangible visual texture | Cut-paper shapes, collage or print grain; controlled depth and moves | Texture and shadow treatment remain consistent | | Soft wash | Reflective, environmental or historical stories | One paper tone, a few pigment colors, soft edges and stable subject silhouettes | Wash does not obscure evidence or cause identity drift | | Drawn explanation | Processes, causal chains and structured teaching | Generated or supplied diagram images, exact FFmpeg labels and an ordered reveal | Drawing order follows the argument; text and formulas are correct | | Map and timeline | Geography, events, movement and sequences | Verified geography/dates, controlled geometry and time-based highlights | No fabricated coordinates, borders, chronology or data | | Abstract system | Invisible flows, networks and comparisons | Nodes/shapes with a declared meaning, coherent arrows and measured values | A connection or animation does not imply unsupported causality | A finished faceless film picks one recipe through `./style-grammar.md`; editorial motion graphics / documentary collage requests use `./editorial-motion-graphics.md`. For exact labels and prepared image-layer reveals use `../../pixverse-motion-design/SKILL.md`. Render lettering outside generated plates. Style references constrain aesthetics; facts and mechanics still need their own source. ## Scene Card Keep a scene card small: spoken passage, point to understand, evidence, visual action, required references, sound role and an estimated duration. After narration exists, replace the estimate with measured timing. A visual can span several sentences if the explanation remains clear; each sentence does not require another paid clip. Only request a new generation when the visual adds information or an accepted asset cannot support the required action. Reuse maps, diagrams, location views and character references across related points.
