# Terms of Use

Effective date: 29 July 2026

Write Like Me is an open-source writing aid. It can suggest edits, audit generic writing patterns, build a portable behavioural profile, verify selected rewrite invariants, and record corrections a user explicitly confirms.

## Open-source licence

The source code and documentation are licensed under the [MIT License](LICENSE). That licence governs copying, modification, distribution, and use of the repository. These terms describe the intended product use and limitations; they do not replace or restrict rights granted by the MIT License.

## User responsibility

Users are responsible for reviewing output before publishing, sending, or relying on it. Users must have the right to provide any draft or sample they submit and remain responsible for the resulting content.

Write Like Me is not:

- proof of identity or authorship;
- an AI-authorship detector or detector-bypass guarantee;
- permission to impersonate another person;
- a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

## Limitations

The package does not guarantee that a rewrite is error-free, perfectly equivalent, or indistinguishable from human writing. Its deterministic checks protect selected facts and semantic signals, but no automated check proves complete semantic equivalence or personal authenticity.

The package is provided without warranties, as described in the MIT License. Use of ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, GitHub, or another host is also subject to that service's terms.
