# Why → What → How / 왜 → 무엇 → 어떻게 - English name: Why → What → How - Korean name: 왜 → 무엇 → 어떻게 - Selection category: explanation - Use when: Use when readers need the rationale, the object, and the method in that order. - Avoid when: Avoid when the piece needs tension, case depth, or controversy. ## Writing Pattern **Use this fixed three-step structure** - **Why**: Why this topic matters—problem awareness and urgency - **What**: The core idea, concept, or strategy proposed - **How**: Execution approach, application plan, phased roadmap or cases - You may connect Why and What on one section; if sections are limited, compress How. **Each major section should include** - Section heading - Core paragraph purpose (1–2 sentences) - Ensure Why leads to What, and What naturally sets up How. ## Example Writing Outline 1. **Why We Must Change Now**: Rising complaints and tougher competition make the current process ineffective. (Why) 2. **Direction of Change**: Unify customer support into an integrated online channel. (What) 3. **Execution Overview**: Rebuild the help system across three phases and establish a dedicated ops team. (How) 4. **Phased Plan**: (1) Assess → (2) Pilot → (3) Full rollout over three months. 5. **Expected Impact and Ask**: Customer satisfaction could rise up to 40%; let’s start next week. ## Writing Notes - In Why, convey urgency and relevance clearly. - In What, present the definitive answer—avoid vague phrasing. - In How, focus on feasibility, milestones, and ownership so the plan feels credible. - Conclude by reinforcing the full chain (“why, what, how”).
