# Terms of Use

Effective date: August 14, 2026

Context Handoff is an independent community project provided under the MIT License. It is not made, sponsored, reviewed, or endorsed by OpenAI.

The plugin helps prepare and verify task handoffs. It does not guarantee that a Codex surface supports thread creation, navigation, or archival, and it must report unsupported or failed operations truthfully. Users remain responsible for reviewing handoff packets, repository state, authorizations, and any actions performed through Codex.

The software is provided "as is," without warranty, to the extent permitted by law. The [MIT License](LICENSE) governs copying, modification, and distribution.
