If the "4" logo was made to mean something every time it appeared, it could function as a continuous brand manifesto. ## Mechanic A series of idents where the "4" numeral assembles itself from images representing Channel 4's values: disability representation, queer culture, bizarre humour, alternative perspectives. Each ident is a distinct micro-story, 15–30 seconds, broadcast between programmes. ## Why it worked The brand's "alternative" identity is demonstrated every few minutes of broadcast rather than stated once per campaign. Repetition of diverse visual content becomes the brand argument. Routine becomes ritual; formality becomes philosophy. ## Steal Convert a repetitive brand touchpoint (ident, receipt footer, loading screen, packaging seal) into a platform for micro-stories. When something appears hundreds of times, even a small idea compounds. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p17]] - Sibling: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
