A scene understood from one angle is dangerous; the same scene understood from all available angles is truth. The Guardian was making an argument about open journalism before that phrase existed. ## Mechanic A 30-second TV film: from one angle, a skinhead is seen running toward a businessman — apparently an attack. Cut to a wider angle: the skinhead is actually running toward the man to push him out of the way of a falling load of bricks from a building. The tagline: "An event seen from one point of view gives one impression. Seen from another point of view it gives quite a different impression. It's only when you get the full picture you can fully understand what's going on." The Guardian. ## Why it worked P17 (design as idea): the film's structure is its message — the reveal is not a twist but a demonstration of the principle being argued. The form enacts the content. P13 (truth telling): the argument about media bias and perspective was real and uncomfortable, and The Guardian stated it directly. The three-act structure (threat → rescue → revelation) compressed a complex epistemological argument into 30 seconds without oversimplifying it. ## Steal When your brand's core argument is about perspective or understanding, build the execution so that the audience experiences the argument rather than hearing it stated. Let the structure of the communication be the proof of the claim. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p17]] - Sibling: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] - Emotion match: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
