# Dvorak (B-Classic · 2018)

## Insight
Classical music is perceived as elite and inaccessible. B-Classic, a Belgian classical music channel, needed to prove it lives in everyone's daily life — even in supermarket queues and elevator moments.

## Mechanic
B-Classic invited people to conduct Dvorak's New World Symphony using everyday gestures captured via smartphone camera. The absurdist premise — conducting an orchestra with mundane movements — democratises classical music through participation.

## Why it worked
The absurd gap between Dvorak's grandeur and everyday gestures generates joy and shareability. Participation removes the intimidation of classical music, replacing it with playfulness. The user becomes the artist, not the passive audience.

## Steal
When your category has an intimidation barrier, lower it through absurd inversion — make the intimidating thing something anyone can do in 30 seconds, preferably while doing something else entirely.
