# Heist (Coca-Cola · 2010)

## Insight
A Coke is a small pleasure, but it's worth going to some trouble for. The slight inconvenience of wanting something badly enough to take a risk for it is actually a compliment to the product's desirability.

## Mechanic
An absurdist film spot structured as a heist narrative — elaborate planning, multiple actors, escalating stakes — for the ultimate goal of obtaining a Coca-Cola. The disproportionate effort for a soft drink is played completely straight.

## Why it worked
The heist genre's conventions (cool, competent criminals, intricate plans) applied to a trivial object creates immediate comedy. The implicit argument is that Coke is worth the effort — a product aspiration statement delivered through absurdist inversion rather than direct claim.

## Steal
Borrow genre conventions from film that imply a level of desire or value your product doesn't normally warrant, then play the conventions completely straight. The gap between the genre's emotional weight and the product's actual stakes generates the brand truth.
