# Native Sportscasters (Corona · 2023)

## Insight

Sports broadcasting is entirely in Spanish across Latin America — Indigenous languages, spoken by millions, are absent from the national conversation around the country's most popular sport.

## Mechanic

Corona broadcast official soccer matches with commentary entirely in Indigenous Mexican languages (Nahuatl, Maya, Zapotec) — giving languages spoken by millions of Mexicans their first presence in major sports media.

## Why it worked

Behavior inversion meets absurdism: putting Indigenous language commentary on mainstream sports coverage inverted the invisible assumption that Spanish is the only valid broadcast language. The "absurdity" was actually just justice — making the unfamiliarity the point.

## Steal

Find an exclusion that your category treats as normal — a voice, a language, a community that is simply absent from the conversation. Invert the absence into presence at scale.
