# T-Shirts (IKEA · 2018)

## Insight
IKEA's product names — unpronounceable Swedish words to most of the world — are a well-known source of gentle frustration. Making that frustration the joke is more charming than pretending the products have universally legible names.

## Mechanic
A short film or social content playing with IKEA product names printed on T-shirts — using the absurdity of Swedish product nomenclature as a gentle self-deprecating comedy prop.

## Why it worked
P11 (absurd as carrier) via self-directed brand humour. IKEA's willingness to poke fun at its own naming convention (a well-known cultural joke about the brand) demonstrates confidence and self-awareness. The execution is lightweight but on-brand.

## Steal
Every brand has a well-known weakness that culture already jokes about. Own the joke before someone else does — self-directed comedy earns more goodwill than defensive communication.
