What would it mean for refugees to have their own voice in a mainstream publication — not as subjects of coverage but as authors? ## Mechanic French newspaper Libération handed over an entire edition to refugees — they wrote articles, took photographs, and told their own stories. The newspaper's design language remained intact; only the bylines changed. The edition was distributed normally. ## Why it worked The inversion of subject/author is the truth-telling mechanism. Design as idea (P17) makes the argument visible: the same newspaper, the same design, but different voices — demonstrating that the gap between refugee and journalist is human circumstance, not inherent difference. ## Steal Find the one editorial or production decision that, if changed, would make your brand's stated values structurally visible rather than rhetorically stated. Then make that decision publicly. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p13]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[calm-the-last-photo-2022.md|The Last Photo]] - Emotion match: [[calm-the-last-photo-2022.md|The Last Photo]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
