# Moose (Monster.com · 1999)

## Insight
Adults rarely tell children the truth about work: that most people end up in jobs they tolerate rather than jobs they love. Hearing that truth from a child's innocent mouth is unbearable — and galvanising.

## Mechanic
Super Bowl spot featuring children earnestly describing their future careers: "I want to be a yes-man," "I want to be forced into early retirement." Delivered with complete sincerity by kids who have no idea what they're saying. Monster.com presented as the escape route.

## Why it worked
The absurdism came from tonal contrast — adult cynicism in children's voices — not from surreal content. Every viewer instantly recognised the adult they'd become or feared becoming. The humour was the wound and the warning simultaneously.

## Steal
The most effective use of children in advertising is not innocence — it's the contrast between their sincerity and the adult truth they accidentally reveal. What does your audience know about themselves but refuse to say out loud?
