# Kash (GEICO · 2012)

## Insight
GEICO's promise — "15 minutes could save you 15% or more" — is about money you keep rather than money you spend. Making that saved money a physical, present character turns an abstract benefit into something the audience can see and interact with.

## Mechanic
A stack of cash with googly eyes (literally "the money you could be saving") appears in domestic situations — watching TV with its owner, sitting at the breakfast table, resentfully ignored while the owner overpays elsewhere. Pure visual gag; pure product benefit made character.

## Why it worked
The googly-eye cash stack externalised the product's core promise as a character you could feel guilty ignoring. It was legally simple, visually distinctive, cheap to produce, and impossible to forget. The insight (you're ignoring money you could have) became a judgmental presence.

## Steal
Product benefits can be turned into characters who express emotions about your audience's behaviour. The "money you could be saving" as a neglected character looking reproachfully at the camera is a benefit articulation, not just a joke.
